About The Camp

Children undergoing cancer treatment often cannot attend traditional camps due to medical needs. Camp Journey NW creates an environment where campers can participate in cabin groups, activities, and camp traditions while receiving the care they require.

The program focuses on friendship, confidence, independence, and meaningful camp experiences designed specifically for children impacted by cancer.

How We Got Started

Pediatric cancer camp in Washington began in 1982 with Camp Betchcan in the Tri-Cities. The program later became American Cancer Society’s Camp Goodtimes and expanded to multiple locations across the state, including Ross Point Camp.

In 2013, when the American Cancer Society ended its support of pediatric cancer camps, the Ross Point board chose to continue the program independently. Camp Journey NW officially formed as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2021.
